Biography
Jamie van der Smith was brought in to help steady the sinking SS Athletic ship during the latter half of Season 7. A number of good utility man performances saw him jump over to United for £7m in the Season 8 auction whilst Athletic continued to crumble. Aside from a number of sterling midfield United display's, van der Smith hit the headlines for alleged off the field antics with midfield partner Tylerinho. United narrowly missed out on the title in Season 8 and van der Smith goes into a Season 9 United team bearing the weight of a £17.5m auction pricetag, looking to help the team take title glory.
